Lions Fall to Mount Olive 25-10

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team welcomed the University of Mount Olive Trojans to Stephens Field today for their final home game of the 2025 season. The Trojans controlled the pace of the game from the start, coming away with a 25-10 victory. With the loss, the Lions fall to 8-5 on the season, 3-3 in conference action. 

Luke Hildebrandt got things started for the Lions with a goal, assisted by Everett Moratorri to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Trojans responded with a 3-0 scoring run to go up 3-1. Ryland Laturell broke the Trojan's scoring run with a goal, assisted by Hildebrandt to make it 3-2, Trojans. Mount Olive answered back to go up 4-2, but Hildebrandt closed out the quarter with a goal to end the quarter trailing 4-3. 

The Trojans opened up the scoring in the 2nd quarter with an 8-0 run to push their lead to 12-3. Graeson Amundson scored with 2:01 to play in the half to make the score 12-4, Mount Olive heading into the half. 

The Trojans scored the first two goals in the 3rd quarter to make it 14-4, but Cole Stachniak found the net, assisted by Tanner Park to cut the Trojans lead to 14-5. Mount Olive scored the next two to push their lead to 16-5, but Hildebrandt responded with his second score of the day to make it 16-6. The Trojans answered to give Mount Olie a 17-6 lead, but Hildebrandt grabbed another goal to put the Lions within 10, 17-7. The Trojans closed out the quarter on a 4-0 scoring run to make it 21-7 heading into the 4th.

The Lions started the 4th quarter out strong with a 3-0 scoring run. Ryland Laturell scored the first two goals of the quarter, both assisted by Jared Weiss to make the score 21-9. Weiss found the net to make it 21-10, but the Trojans answered by scoring the final four goals of the game to take the victory, 25-10. 

Luke Hildebrandt led the Lions in scoring with 4 goals, while Ryland Laturell added 3. Jared Weiss led the team in assists with 2. Nick Pilon had 7 saves on the afternoon, with Grady Magruder adding 1. 

The Lions will close out the regular season with a road trip to Belmont, NC to face Belmont Abbey in conference play on Wednesday at 3:30PM. For more information on Emmanuel University athletics, visit goeulions.com.
