DUNCAN, SC – The Emmanuel Softball team continued play in the Conference Carolinas Championship this afternoon with a matchup against #2 seeded, UNC Pembroke. The Lions took the lead in the 3
rd inning and held on to shut out the Braves, 1-0 to move on in the winner's bracket. With the win, the Lions improve to 22-27 on the season and will now face the Barton Bulldogs tomorrow at 12PM. 
After two scoreless innings, the Lions got on the board in the top of the 3
rd inning. 
Vic Epps started things off with a single through the left side. Epps then stole 2
nd and reached 3
rd on a SAC bunt, scoring on a wild pitch. 
Although the Braves threatened to score with hits in the 4
th, 6
th, and 7
th the Lions held on to earn the 1-0 victory to move on in the winner's bracket of tournament play. 
At the plate, five Lions recorded a hit. 
In the circle, 
Cassidy Jenkins pitched a gem going 7.0 strong innings. She gave up just 4 hits and struck out 2 batters.
