Murfreesboro, NC – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis team traveled to Murfreesboro, NC to face the Chowan University Hawks in conference action. The Hawks took the early lead by earning the doubles point. The two teams split the singles matches, 3-3 to earn the home team Hawks the 4-3 win. With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-12 on the season, 0-5 in conference play. 

 DOUBLES PLAY 

• At #1 Doubles, Shatavisa Ghosh/Franziska Wolter (EU) def. A. Vera/S. Kentish (CU) 6-0. 
• At #2 Doubles, Tawana Senah/Anna Goncalves (EU) fell to S. Puducheri/O. Schoone (CU) 6-1.
• F. Rodriguez/I. Turner (CU) won the 3^rd doubles match by default. 

 
SINGLES PLAY

• At #1 singles, Shatavisa Ghosh (EU) def. F. Rodriguez (CU) in three sets. Rodriguez won the first set, 7-6 before falling 6-2, 6-3. 
• At #2 singles, Tawana Senah (EU) def. A. Vera (CU) 6-0, 6-1. 
• At #3 singles, Anna Goncalves (EU) fell to S. Puducheri (CU) in three sets, taking the first 6-4 before falling 6-3, 6-2. 
• At #4 singles, Franziska Wolter (EU) def. S. Kentish (CU) 7-6, 7-6. 
• At #5 singles, Emma Auger (EU) fell to O. Schoone (CU) 6-2, 6-2. 
• I. Turner (CU) won the #6 singles match by default. 

The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday as they host the Young Harris College Mountain Lions in conference action. Play begins at 1PM.
