Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Last Minute Goal Lifts Young Harris Over Emmanuel 2-1

The Emmanuel University Men's Soccer team battled through a hard-fought match-up against Young Harris, ultimately falling 2-1 after a late goal by the Mountain Lions. Emmanuel showed its ability to compete throughout the contest, holding a lead for much of the game before Young Harris made a second-half comeback.

The Lions struck first in the 29th minute when Enzo Joly found the back of the net, giving Emmanuel a 1-0 advantage. In the lead, the Lions continued to work defensively, looking to keep Young Harris off the scoreboard and carry their momentum into the second half.

Emmanuel faced increasing pressure after the break as Young Harris pushed their offense. The Lions worked to hold their ground, and despite the pressure, Emmanuel remained in front until the 81st minute, when Young Harris found the goal to knot the score at 1-1.

With the game entering its final minutes, both sides fought for the decisive goal. Young Harris broke through again in the 88th minute, scoring the game-winning goal.

The Lions finished with eight shots, including three on goal, while facing 25 shots from Young Harris. Emmanuel's goalkeeper, Edouard Laberge recorded 11 saves, delivering an important performance under sustained pressure and helping keep the Lions within reach throughout the contest.

Although the late result was a difficult one to take, Emmanuel demonstrated resilience against a challenging opponent. After taking the lead and defending it for much of the match, the Lions came within minutes of securing a result. The team will look to build on that competitive effort as it prepares for its next matchup against Southern Wesleyan University on Wednesday at 7PM.
