FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emmanuel University Women's Volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over Barton College on Saturday afternoon at the Shaw Athletic Center, securing a Conference Carolinas victory with set scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21. It was Youth Day in the Lions Den, with several youth & middle school players taking in the action and participating in pregame activities.
With the win, the Lions improved to 13-6 overall and 9-2 in Conference Carolinas play, extending their win streak to six games.
Emmanuel's offense was led by
Cailin Pritchard, who recorded a match-high 12 kills on 30 attempts while adding two block assists to finish with 13 points.
Brooke Lee contributed seven kills and a match-high four service aces, totaling 11 points, while
Ellie Jackson also tallied seven kills and led the Lions with 15 digs.
Brianna Bigelow added an efficient performance in the middle, recording four kills on 10 attempts without committing an error for a .400 hitting percentage.
Marusa Pesut directed the offense with 38 assists and contributed two block assists, while
Lilli Redifer paced the serving game with three aces.
As a team, Emmanuel finished with 43 kills and a .216 hitting percentage while recording 10 service aces. The Lions also collected 48 digs and eight total blocks, maintaining control throughout the three-set contest.
Emmanuel's balanced offensive attack and consistent defensive effort proved to be the difference as the Lions continued their strong conference campaign.
