Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team hosted UVA Wise this afternoon in non-conference action. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, earnng the doubles point then swept the Cavaliers 3-0 in singles play to earn the 4-0 win. With the win the Lions move to 5-3 on the season.

DOUBLES COMPETITION

• At #1 Doubles, James Girdler/Shumpei Kamiyama (Emmanuel) def. C. Nilaweera/M. Rafa (WISE) 6-4. 
• At #2 Doubles, Marcos Llorens/Murio Martins (Emmanuel) fell to D. Gonzalez/M. De Rueda (WISE) 6-4. 
• At #3 Doubles, Matteo Hofstetter/ Aleksander Simovski (Emmanuel) def. D. Semenov/G. Ribas (WISE) 6-4.

SINGLES PLAY

• At #1 Singles, James Girdler (Emmanuel) def. C. Nilaweera (WISE) 7-5, 6-2,
• At #2 Singles, Murilo Martins (Emmanuel) def. M. Raja (WISE) 6-3, 6-2.
• At #3 Singles, Aleksander Simovski (Emmanuel) def. M. De   Rueda 6-1 in the first set, but the remainder of the match was unfinished. 
• At #4 Singles, Henrique Castro (Emmanuel) def. D. Semenov (WISE) 6-2, 6-1. 
• The #5 and #6 singles matches were unfinished.

 
Next up, the Lions will travel to Belmont, NC to face Belmont Abbey on March 5 at 1PM.
