ROME, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Basketball team will open up the Conference Carolinas Championship play against King University on Sunday at 5PM in Rome, GA. The Lions head into tournament play as the #10 seed with an overall record of 13-13, 8-12 in conference action.
The Lions and Tornado faced off once this season on February 16
th with the Lions earning the 83-69 victory. In the game, the Lions were led by
Natalee Goff (23 pts, 8 rebounds) and
Naomi Roberts (22 pts, 8 assists).
On the season,
Naomi Roberts leads the team averaging 18.8 points per game, but
Natalee Goff has come on strong late, leading the Lions in scoring in the last 9 games, scoring 20 points or more.
The match up will be held at Shorter University, with the winner of Sunday's game moving to the 2
nd round to play the host, Shorter Hawks on Monday at 7PM.
The three first and second-round winners will advance to the quarterfinals that will be held at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on Friday, March 6. The semifinals and finals will follow on Saturday, March 7
th and Sunday, March 8
th at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
