Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Flag Football team hosted King University in conference action this afternoon. The Lions jumped out ahead early, taking a 25-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Lions controlled the pace of the game, outscoring the Tornado 32-0 to earn the 57-0 win. With the win, the Lions move to 4-2 on the season, 1-1 in conference action.
Lillian Stephenson was on fire this afternoon, connecting on 26-39 passes for 422 yards and 9 scores.
Elzie Baker led the Lions in rushing with 8 yards on 2 carries, but the story of the day was the Lions air-raid offense.
Gwen Carter led the Lions with 11 receptions for 190 yards and 4 touchdowns, while
Gianna Brown added 6 receptions for 101 yards and 2 scores.
Elzie Baker caught 4 passes for 98 yards and 3 scores.
Defensively,
Cailyn Robinson led the way with 8 tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss. Kylie Warren-Young and
Jamise Spivey each picked up 6 tackles on the day, with
Gianna Brown adding 5 tackles and 2 TFL.
The Lions will be back in action on March 7
th at 12PM as they travel to face Milligan University in Milligan College, TN.
