Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Lions Down Ferrum 22-1!

Franklin Springs, GA- The   Emmanuel Women's Lacrosse team hosted Ferrum College in conference play this morning. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, taking a 14-0 advantage into the halftime break. The Lions continued to control the pace of the game the rest of the way, taking the game 22-1. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-4 overall, 2-0 in conference.

Demi Czynski opened the scoring for the Lions, finding the net with 14:37 to play in the first to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. A minute later, Lexie Lee got in on the action to make it 2-0, Lions. 10 seconds later, it was freshman, Olivia Wallach who struck gold, scoring her first of the day to push the Lions lead to 3-0. Meghan Jennings was next to score at the 13:00 mark in the 1st to put the Lions up 4-0. Lions continued a 6-0 scoring run with goals by Taylor Schubert (assisted by Wallach), Paetyn Hoffman (assisted by Wallach) Wallach (assisted by Hoffman), Jennings (assisted by Lee) and Lee (assisted by Schubert) to make it 9-0, Lions.  A goal by Schubert closed out the period with the Lions leading 10-0.

The second period started just like the first, with a goal by Czynski to give the Lions an 11-0 lead. Kaitlyn Brown was next to find the net to make it 12-0, Lions. With 4:59 to play, Avery Jennings scored to push the Lions lead to 13-0, and Czynski closed out the 2nd with a goal assisted by Wallach to make it 14-0, Lions. 

Czynski scored her 4th of the day with 13:23 to play in the 3rd, assisted by Jennings to give the Lions a 15-0 lead. Schubert was next to score, assisted by Lee to make it16-0, Emmanuel. Wallach scored the next two goals, assisted by Kamryn Courage and Hoffman to push the Lions lead to make it 18-0, Lions with 7:48 to play in the 3rd. Czynski scored a career high fifth goal with 5:39 to play in the3rd to make it 19-0, Lions. Mary Landrine closed out the period with a score to put the Lions up 20-0.

Hoffman opened up the 4th period with a goal to make it 21-0, Lions, but the Panthers responded to make it 21-1. Lexie Lee found the net with 7:34 to play to make the final score 22-1, Lions.

Demi Czynski had herself a DAY with career high 5 goals, with Olivia Wallach adding 4 goals and 3 assists. 

The Emmanuel goalkeepers split time, with Avery Atkins picking up 2 saves and Emily Dawson adding 1. 

Next up, the Lions will travel to Young Harris, GA on Tuesday to take on the Young Harris College Mountain Lions in conference action. The game will start at 6PM.
