Marietta, Ga- The Emmanuel University men's volleyball team delivered a dominant performance in regular season action, earning a straight-set sweep over Life University.
The Lions came out with intensity in the opening set, setting the tone early with strong offensive execution and disciplined defense. After jumping out to a 6-2 lead on kills by Elek Cumming and Aidan Feeney, the Lions pushed ahead on service aces by Greg Bodus and kills from Feeney and Cumming to make it 18-7, Lions. Emmanuel controlled the set from start to finish, cruising to a 25–13 victory.
The second set brought more resistance from Life, as the teams battled point-for-point in a tightly contested frame. Despite the pressure, the Lions remained composed and executed in key moments, with Luke Wilson, Thijs Van der Wal and Feeney making impact plays. The Lions pulled out a 28–26 win to take a commanding 2–0 lead.
In the third set, Emmanuel showcased its most explosive performance of the night. The Lions recorded 20 kills in the set alone, with Feeney, Van der Wal, Wilson and Matthieu Bataille getting in on the action. The set displayed their offensive rhythm and depth. That surge powered them to a 25–23 victory, completing the clean sweep.
As a team, Emmanuel finished with 40 total kills, highlighting an efficient and balanced attack throughout the match.
Individually, the Lions were led by Greg Bodus, who totaled 34 assists while also contributing 4 service aces. Elek Cumming delivered an outstanding offensive performance, hitting an impressive .700 on the night. Defensively, William Moore added 6 digs, while Matthieu Battaille made his presence felt at the net with 4 blocks.
With the win, Emmanuel continues to build momentum in the final games to end the regular season, putting together a complete and confident performance against Life University.
