TIGERVILLE, SC – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team traveled to Tigerville, SC tonight to face North Greenville University in conference action. The Lions took the 1-0 lead in the first half, but the Trailblazers tied the game in the 70
th minute to end the contest in a draw, 1-1.
The game was a defensive battle early, but the Lions opened the scoring in the 20
th minute with a goal by
Jimena Rivera to give the Lions the 1-0 lead. The Trailblazers outshot the Lions 5-4 with both teams having 2 shots on goal. Emmanuel goalkeeper, Ana Ramirez-Cortes had 2 saves in the first half of play.
The Trailblazers answered with a goal of their own in the 70
th minute to tie the game at 1-1. North Greenville controlled the ball for much of the 2
nd half, with 10 shots, 4 on goal. Ramirez-Cortes had 3 saves in the 2
ndhalf to give her 5 total for the game. The teams would end the game knotted at 1-1.
