Box Score Franklin Springs, GA- The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team hosted Converse University tonight in conference play. After a defensive battle early, Devin Brown got the Lions on the board in the 35^th minute to give Emmanuel the 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Following the halftime break, Enzo Joly found the back of the net to add to the Lions lead. Emmanuel earned the shutout victory 2-0 to move to 3-2-1 on the season, 3-0 in conference action.

The game was a defensive battle from the start, with neither team finding the net. At the 35:29 mark, Devin Brown got the Lions on the board, with an assist by Enzo Joly, for his first career goal giving the Lions the 1-0 lead heading into the half. In the first half, the Valkyries outshot the Lions 7-4, with the Lions taking 3 shots on goal. Goalkeeper, Edouard Laberge collected 2 saves in the half.

In the second half, the Valkyries put the pressure on, outshooting the Lions 13-8 with 5 shots on goal but it was the Lions who broke free for a score with Enzo Joly finding the net at 56:01 to give the Lions the 2-0 lead. Laberge collected 5 saves in the half to help the Lions earn a shutout victory, 2-0!

Next up, the Lions will travel to Wilson, NC to face Barton College at 3PM on Saturday.
