Box Score Franklin Springs, GA- The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team hosted Converse University this afternoon in conference play. The Lions jumped out to an early lead with a goal by McKenzie Carrier in the 22^nd minute. Both teams would go onto score twice in the 1^st have to go into halftime tied at 2-2. The Valkyries surged ahead in the 2^nd half, outscoring the Lios 3-0 to earn the 5-2 victory. 

The first half of play was evenly matched, with both teams making key plays. McKenzie Carrier got the scoring started with a goal in the 22^nd minute to give the Lions the 1-0 lead. Converse responded with a score in the 37^th minute to tie the game at 1-1. A minute later, the Valkyries would take the 2-1 lead, but the Lions answered in the 40^th minute when Jillian Aldrich found the back of the net to knot the game at 2-2 heading into halftime. Her goal was assisted by Emily Chavez. In the half, the Valkyries outshot the Lions 14-7, with 4 shots on goal. Kylie Warren-Young picked up 2 saves in goal in the half.

The Valkyries took control of the game in the 2^nd half, out-shooting the Lions 8-2 with 4 shots on goal. Converse would take the 3-2 lead in the 65^th minute of play, then tacked on two more goals in the 75^th and 84^th minute to make the final score 5-2, Valkyries. Warren-Young finished the game with 3 saves in goal.
