Franklin Springs, GA- The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team hosted Francis Marion University in conference action this afternoon. The Patriots took the lead early and controlled the pace of the game to earn the 7-0 victory.
The Patriots opened up the scoring with two goals in the first 12 minutes of play to take a 2-0 lead. Francis Marion doubled their lead with goals in the 20
th and 35
th minute to make the score 4-0 heading into the halftime break. In in the first half, Emmanuel goalkeeper Ana Ramirez Cortes had 9 saves in goal.
The second half saw the Patriots add to their lead with two early goals to make the score, 6-0. Francis Marion closed out the game with a goal at the 84:46 mark to make the final score, 7-0. Ramirez-Cortes ended the afternoon with 15 saves in goal.
Next up, the Lions will travel to Central, SC to face Southern Wesleyan University on Wednesday at 4:30PM.
