Box Score Honolulu, HI - The Emmanuel Women's Volleyball team opened their four-game trip to Hawaii with a match up against the Seatle Pacific Falcons. The Falcons jumped out to an early lead, but the Lions answered late to take the first set, 25-22. The Falcons responded to take the next two sets, 25-18, 25-15 but the Lions answered to take the 4th set, 25-19 to force a 5th set. The 5th set was a nail biter, with both teams making key plays but the Falcons closed the set strong to earn the win, 16-14 and take the game, 3-2. With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-2 on the season. 

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead in the first set, 6-3. The Lions settled in to tie the set at 6-6 on kills by Ellie Jackson and Brianna Bigelow. The Falcons responded with a 4-0 run to go up 10-6, but the Lions answered with points from Natalie Wilson and Brooke Lee to make the score 13-12 midway through the set. With the Falcons up 14-12, graduate OH, Ellie Jackson recorded her 2^nd kill of the night to help her reach the 1,000 career kill milestone. Jackson became just the 4^th Lion in program history to join this prestigious club. The teams traded points late, with a service ace by Marusa Pesut knotting the set at 18-18. The Lions took their first lead of the set on a kill by Brooke Lee to put the Lions up, 21-20. An ace by Isabel Miller and kills from Cailin Pritchard helped the Lions close the 1^st set strong to earn the win, 25-22. 

The teams traded points to start off the 2^nd set knotted at 4-4. The Lions pulled ahead on back-to-back aces by Isabel Miller, 7-4 but the Falcons responded to tie the set at 7. Brooke Lee Had three consecutive kills to give the Lions a 11-8 lead, but the Falcons answered to take the lead midway through the set, 13-12. Late in the set, the Falcons led 18-15. Seattle Pacific closed out the set, 25-18 to tie the game at 1-1. 

The Falcons carried the momentum into the third set, taking an early 7-4 lead, but points by Pesut and Jackson kept things close. Midway through the set, the Falcons pulled ahead 13-9. Late in the set, Seattle Pacific led 17-11, but the Lions answered with kills from Jackson and Pesut to make it 17-13. The Falcons finished strong to take the set, 25-15.

The teams traded points early in the 4^th set, with Wilson and Bigelow scoring early points for the Lions. With the Falcons leading 6-3, the Lions used kills from Bigelow and Pritchard to tie the set at 7-7. Attack errors by the Falcons and points from Jackson and Pesut put the Lions up 14-10 midway through the set. Errors by the Falcons pushed the Lions lead to 19-14 late in the set. Points from Pritchard, Jackson, Wilson and Pesut gave the Lions the win, 25-19 to force a 5^th set.  

In the 5^th set, a kill and ace from Pesut gave the Lions an early 3-1 lead. The Lions pushed their lead to 9-7 on kills from Wilson, Jackson and Pritchard but the Falcons tied the set at 9-9. The teams traded points until the very end, but the Falcons finished strong to earn the 16-14 win, taking the game 3-2.
 
Overall, the Lions finished the night with 55 kills,  50 assists, 9 aces, 11 blocks and 88 digs.

Ellie Jackson led the way for the Lions with 14 kills. Marusa Pesut finished with 41 assists, while Isabel Miller and Madelyn Banton each had strong nights from the service line, with both collecting 4 aces. Cailin Pritchard led the Lions with 3.5 blocks, with Isabel Miller adding 25 digs.

The Lions are back in action tomorrow with two games. First, the Lions will face Western Oregon at 5PM est. and will finish the day with a late-night game against University of Hawaii at Hilo at 10PM.
