Box Score ROME, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team opened conference play this evening with a game against the Shorter University Hawks. The Lions took control of the game early, with a quick goal by Reagan Hill to make it 1-0, Lions heading into halftime. Leah Chavez picked up her first career goal as a Lion late in the 2^ndhalf to make the final score, 2-0 Lions. With the win, the Lions move to 1-3 on the season, 1-0 in conference action. 

The Lions got on the board early in the first half with a goal by Reagan Hill, assisted by Sydney Steele, at 15:04 to put the Lions up 1-0. In the first half, the Lions outshot the Hawks, 13-2 with 9 shots on goal. At the half, the Lions led the Hawks 1-0.

The Lions continued to control the pace of the game in the 2^nd half. Freshman, Leah Chavez added to the Lions lead in the 53^rd minute, assisted by Jillian Aldrich to make it 2-0, Emmanuel. The Lions outshot the Hawks, 9-2 in the half, with 4 on goal. Lions' goalkeeper, Ana Ramirez Cortes picked up 2 saves on goal in the half to make the final score, 2-0 Lions. 

Next up, the Lions will travel to Tigerville, SC to face North Greenville University on Saturday at 5PM.
