After growing up in McDonough, Georgia, Paul Blackburn headed to the Midwest for his college years. After playing two years of college basketball at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, Blackburn transitioned to a role of student assistant.
After graduating from Luther College in 2018 with a degree in Business Management, Blackburn continued to pursue his passion for coaching as a graduate assistant at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska. While serving as the head JV coach and handling player development and recruiting, Blackburn earned an M.S. in Adult and Organizational learning.
Blackburn is returning for his 2nd year as the men’s basketball assistant coach for the Lions.
When asked about how it feels to join the Emmanuel Basketball program, Blackburn said, “I’m excited to get started and excited to be a part of such a successful program. I’m also excited to be around great players and great people here at Emmanuel.”
