Emmanuel University is proud to announce Kara Canetto as the new Assistant Coach for the Softball program. Kara brings a great deal of experience to Emmanuel as a former Division 1 collegiate player and current professional player. She played at Liberty University for four years. She was a starter in the outfield, playing in Left and Center Field. She was ranked 93rd in the Extra Elite Softball her senior year as well as being awarded Most Valuable Player at the ASUN Championship tournament. As a player, Canetto was at her best when playing against the best teams in the country. Against teams ranked inthe top 25, she boasted an amazing .444 batting average. 

After her playing career ended, she continued at Liberty University as a Student Coach, working with Dot Richardson, Kasey Fagan, Sami Fagan, and Emily Kirby, arguably one of the best coaching staffs in the nation. This past summer she played her first season of professional softball for the Florida Vibe. She made an immediate impact, leading the team in batting average and quality at bats.

2020- VaSID All State First Team Outfielder 

2021- ASUN All-Conference First Team Outfielder 

- VaSID All-State Second Team Outfielder 

2022- MVP ASUN Tournament
