Joreshica Martin

Joreshica Martin is entering her first year as the assistant coach for Emmanuel’s women’s basketball program.

After playing high school ball for Hart County, where she was MVP and defensive player of the year, Martin played a year of basketball at the junior college level before transferring to Emmanuel. She then proceeded to play for Coach Bona for three years, receiving several accolades in the process. Martin was on the 2013 NCCAA All-Region team as well as the 2013 NCCAA All-American team.

In 2015, Martin graduated from Emmanuel with a B.S. in Sports Management as well as an Associates in General Education. She proceeded to use both of her degrees simultaneously as she entered the Hart County education system. While teaching elementary school, Martin also served as the head junior varsity basketball coach and the assistant varsity coach. Additionally, Martin was the head women’s middle school track coach.

When asked what she most looks forward to, Martin said, “I look forward to growing a new group of girls and developing them as women and athletes. After six years of coaching at the high school level, I am excited to move to the collegiate level.”

When asked about Martin returning Coach Bona said, “I am so very excited to have JoJo back at Emmanuel. She brings so much experience with her from playing as well as coaching in High School and in AAU. She was one of the hardest workers that I’ve ever coached and I know she will bring that passion, energy, and enthusiasm with her to our team this fall. This is truly a great day for our program! JoJo will start in August and I know the Emmanuel College family will be happy to welcome her back home! Welcome back, JoJo!"
