FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Men's Volleyball team split their matches on Saturday, with a win over Coker following a loss to Mount Olive.
The Lions started Saturday with a three set loss to the Trojans of Mount Olive. Mount Olive took three straight sets 25-19, 25-17, 25-21.
Alex Barbosa led the team offensively with seven kills. Nik Nelson added six kills with a .500 hitting percentage. Meshach McKnight set up 23 assists and led the team defensively with ten digs. Steven Peruyero put down three blocks.
The Lions were able to rally back on Saturday and beat the Cobras of Coker in five sets. Coker took the first set 25-23, Emmanuel responded with a 25-20 win. Set three went to Coker with a 25-22 win, and the Lions took the remaining two sets 25-21, and 15-12.
Many Lions had double-doubles for the second match on Saturday.
Alex Barbosa led the team with a season high of 22 killsand 10 digs. Steven Peruyero added 13 kills, hitting .476, and Peter-Daniel Basson recorded 11 kills and 10 digs. Meshach McKnight collected 52 assists and 11 digs with four kills and a .600 attacking percentage and four blocks. Steven Diaz recorded 17 digs. Nik Nelson put down seven blocks.
The Lions travel to the Coker Invitational next weekend, March 7th and 8th.
