CORNELIUS, N.C. – Emmanuel College (1-6, 0-2) fell to the Pfeiffer University Falcons (5-2, 2-0 CC) in a Conference Carolinas matinee Saturday. The Lions struggled early in the first twenty-minutes as the Falcons flew out to a 9 goal lead, but the Lions never backed down as they fought back late in the second quarter to tally four unanswered goals to end the half 5-9.

Austin Brundage (Leesburg, VA) cut the gap to 5-9 for Emmanuel just 1:04 into the third quarter but Pfeiffer's offensive powered out five goals in the last three and half minutes of the third quarter to stretch out a 15-5 going in the fourth. The Falcons late third quarter push was enough to seal up the win as Pfeiffer would outscore EC 2-4 in the fourth to walk away with a 7-19 victory.

Brundage led the Lions offense with 2 goals and 2 assists while EC goalie Alan Troutman (Evans, GA) led all keepers with 18 saves. Eddie Renaud, who entered the game fourth in the nation in points per game, added seven points on five goals and two assists to lead the Falcon offense.

The Lions extra man offense drastically improved in this contest as they went 4-4 on the game.

Emmanuel returns to action on Saturday afternoon as they host Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas action. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start at Stephens Athletic Field.
