PEMBROKE, NC - Women's soccer faced the conference undefeated UNC Pembroke Braves on Saturday afternoon. The Braves beat the Lions, 4-1, moving Emmanuel's record to 3-9 (2-6 in CC).
The Lions scored the first goal of the game when they got a penalty kick in the 12th minute. It was Emilia Dingwall who took the PK for the Lions and put it in the net for her first goal of the season. The Braves responded before long, scoring a pair of goals within four minutes, the first of which coming in the 18th. In the 31st minute, UNCP found the net once more, giving them a 3-1 lead heading into halftime.
The second half was scoreless until the 78th minute, when the Braves tacked on another goal to win the match, 4-1.
The Lions finished with 7 shots, 5 of them on goal. The Braves took 32, 11 of them on target.
Next up, women's soccer will host Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday, October 19 at 5:00pm.
