FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - Men's soccer took on Francis Marion on Saturday night. The Patriots narrowly clipped the Lions, 1-0. The loss moves Emmanuel's record to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in league play.
Both teams got off several great shots throughout the first half. However, the goalkeepers both had incredible saves to keep the score tied at zero going into halftime.
After more wonderful saves from freshman Rodrigo De La Terga to start the second period, the Patriots finally found a gap in Emmanuel's defense as Oliver Peters scored off an indirect free kick. The Lions were unable to put up a point of their own as the Patriots won the match, 1-0.
FMU ended up taking 23 shots, 10 on goal. The Lions took 8, 4 of them on goal.
Next up, men's soccer will head to North Carolina to face Belmont Abbey on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
