Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Crusaders Edge Out Lions, 2-1

BELMONT ABBEY, NC - The men's soccer team headed to North Carolina on Wednesday evening to face Belmont Abbey. The Crusaders edged out the Lions, 2-1, moving Emmanuel's record to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in league play.

The first half hour passed with neither team able to generate a goal. However, it was the Lions in the 33rd minute who put the first point of the night on the board as freshman Alexander Panner scored for the Lions. But, just three minutes later, the Crusaders responded as their Adam Lindskog found the net, tying the match 1-1 heading into halftime.

The second half saw a lot of offensive action from the Crusaders as they managed to get a multitude of shots off. It was their eighth shot of the half in the 62nd minute when Belmont Abbey scored their second goal, giving them the advantage, 2-1. The Lions could only get two more shots off, neither of which hit their mark as the Crusaders took the match, 2-1.

The Crusaders finished with 18 shots, 6 of them on target, while the Lions took 8, 3 of them on goal.

Next up, men's soccer will face Lee University on the road this Saturday, October 9 at 7:00pm.
