CLEVELAND, TN - The men's soccer team faced Lee University on Saturday night. The Flames shut out the Lions, 3-0, moving Emmanuel's record to 1-7.
Lee got off to an extremely fast start, scoring just 34 seconds into the match. They followed it up in just the second minute, gaining a 2-0 lead in just a couple minutes of play. The Lions got a few shots off before the half, but none found their mark.
Lee scored quickly once again in the second half. The goal came in the 46th minute as they increased their lead to three. The Lions struggled to get the ball down the field and couldn't manage a response as Lee won the match, 3-0.
The Flames took 21 shots, 10 of them on goal. The Lions finished with 4, 3 of them on goal.
Next up, men's soccer will resume conference play with a home match against Erskine on Tuesday, October 12.
