Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team got back to the home courts for another conference event this season.

The Lady Lions were committed to earn their 3rd conference win of the season and the doubles action proved that today. Emmanuel captured all three lines of doubles today. First on #3 with Raich / Castillon leading the way with a quick 6-1 win. Not too long after, on court #2, Khmelevskai / Ramos confirmed the doubles point with a 6-3 win. A lot more work had to be done on court #1, but after some successful net plays, Weng / Guerrero sneaked a win by 7-5.

In Singles play, Emmanuel kept their determination sky high and starting with the Freshman Alejandra Guerrero on court #2, with a 6-0 7-5 victory. On court #6, Zyanya Rogel put EC closer to the overall clinch with a 6-1 6-4 win. But it was Marta Barreiro who gave Emmanuel the overall win of the day with a solid performance from the baseline by 6-4 7-5. The senior from Barcelona, Spain, stretched the lead for the Home Team on court #1 with a series of aggressive shots from behind the baseline that proved to be enough to capture a 6-2 6-2 win. Lastly, Elisa Weng had to go the distance today in a match full of ups and downs, but the Taiwan native was able to snag a last minute win by 6-2 4-6 10-8.

This marked the 3 consecutive win in conference play for the EC Women's Team. The rest will be short for the Lady Lions, who will be back on the home courts tomorrow, now facing the Lees McRae Bobcats for another Conference Carolinas Event!
