MURFREESBORO, NC - Women's soccer continued conference play on Saturday with a match against Chowan University. The Hawks defeated the Lions, 2-0.
The first goal came in the 15th minute when Sabrina Henderson found the net for the Eagles. Emmanuel proceeded to get several shots on goal throughout the rest of the first half, but all of them were saved by Chowan's goalkeeper.
The majority of the second half was a back and forth exchange as the teams traded shots but failed to put up any goals. However, in the 88th minute Chowan was able to increase their lead as Lucci Carolina recorded a goal. This resulted in the Hawks taking the victory, 2-0.
Senior Moriah Logue finished the game with 5 shots on goal, while the team recorded 15 shots with 7 of them being on goal. The Hawks took 9 shots, 7 of them on target.
Next up, women's soccer will face Lees-McRae University on Tuesday, September 28 at home. The match will kick off at 4:30pm.
