FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - Women's soccer hosted conference opponent Lees-McRae on Tuesday night. The Bobcats defeated the Lions, 1-0, moving Emmanuel's record to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
The first half began with a lot of back and forth as neither team took the advantage in the battle for possession. 30 minutes into the game, it was the Bobcats who finally took control as they managed to get the ball down the field. A shot from Ivy Cagno slipped past the Lions defense to give the Bobcats the lead, 1-0.
The second half was predominately uneventful as the fight for control of the ball resumed. Emmanuel got three shots off, but none found their mark as the match ended with Lee's-McRae taking the victory, 1-0.
The Bobcats ended up taking 8 shots, 7 of them on goal, while the Lions took 6, 3 of them on goal.
Next up, women's soccer will host Francis Marion on Saturday, October 2 at 4:30pm.
