Franklin Springs, GA --- Emmanuel College Men's Soccer hosted Belmont Abbey College for their final matchup of the regular season play tonight.
Emmanuel came out looking to extend their Conference Carolinas standing on the last night of regular season play. Both goalies were put to the test in the first half of play as Emmanuel would put up four shots, 2 of which would be saved, 2 missing high and wide and one that would put a point on the board. The Crusaders put up 3 shots, 2 of which would be saved by the Lions goalie,
Natxo Faus, and one that would result in a goal. The first goal would be scored by the Lions at 32:37.
Emilio Rangel would score off a penalty goal putting the Lions up 1-0. The Crusaders would soon answer at 32:40 tying the score up 1-1. The Lions and Crusaders would go into the half 1-1.
The Lions came out looking to score and take the lead in the second half of play. The Lions and the Crusaders would put up a low amount of shots in the second half. The Lions would put up 4 shots in the second half, 3 of which would be saved by the Crusaders goalie and one would miss high. The Crusaders put up 3 shots in the second half, 2 of which would be saved by the Lions goalie,
Rodrigo De La Terga, and the other would miss high. The Lions would tie with the Crusaders after 90 minutes of play, 1-1.
The Lions will head to the Conference Carolinas tournament on Wednesday, October 26th.
