Baseball Bounces Back in Dominant Game 2, Defeat Tornado 14-2

BRISTOL, TN - The Emmanuel College Men's Baseball team continued their weekend series against conference opponent King University. Boosted by a 6-run 4th inning, they defeated King 14-2, tying the series 1-1. 
 
Jake Denham started the game on the mound for Emmanuel. 
 
In the 2nd inning, Steele flied out to right field for King, bringing Scott home for a 1-0 lead. 
 
In the 3rd inning, Khalib Bayona hit a 1-run homerun to left field for Emmanuel, tying the game 1-1. 
 
In the 4th inning, Anthony Baez reached 1st base for Emmanuel on an error by King, bringing Dustin Frost home for a 2-1 lead. Guy Anderberg tripled to right center, bringing Judd Roberts and Baez home for a 4-1 lead. Khalib Bayona singled to centerfield, sending Anderberg home for a 5-1 lead. Cody Minnis advanced to third on a balk while Khalib Bayona scored, extending the lead to 6-1. Luke Patty singled down the right field line, sending Cody Minnis home for a 7-1 lead. 
 
In the 5th inning, Khalib Bayone tripled to right field, sending Guy Anderberg home for an 8-1 lead. Shortly after, Minis doubled to left field, brining Khalb Bayona home for a 9-1 lead. 
 
In the top of the 6th inning, Anthony Baez hit a 2-run homerun for Emmanuel, sending Jacob Reeves home and extending the lead to 12-1. 

In the bottom of the 6th, King's Renwick hit a 1-run homerun, cutting Emmanuel's lead to 12-2. 
 
Braden Henle took the mound for Denham in the 7th inning. Denham allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in 6 innings pitched. 
 
In the 9th inning, Dobbs Bowden doubled to left field for Emmanuel, sending both Ryan Smith and Johnathan Manibusan home for a 14-2 lead. 
 
Henle closed out the last 3 innings for Emmanuel from the mound, shutting out King while allowing only 2 hits. 
 
The defeat against King moved the Lions record to 6-7 (1-1 CC). The Lions hope to take the series as they compete against King tomorrow – February 20th – at 1:00pm in Bristol, TN.
