Box Score BRISTOL, TN - The Emmanuel College Men's Baseball team finished their weekend series against conference opponent King University on Sunday. Despite a late scoring run from the Lions, they were defeated 8-7. 
 
Colby Fields started the game on the mound for Emmanuel. 
 
In the top of the 3
rd, 
Khalib Bayona doubled to left field, brining 
Guy Anderberg home for a 1-0 lead. 
In the bottom of the 3
rd, King responded as Renwick singled to centerfield, brining Thomas home to tie the game 1-1. 
 
Hunter Parks replaced Fields on the mound in the 4
th inning. Field allowed 4 hits and 1 run. 
 
In the bottom of the 5
th, Hall singled through the right side for King, sending Scott and Renwick home for a 3-1 lead. Later in the inning, Andrews singled up the middle, bringing Flanagan home for a 4-1 lead. Hall would score on a wild pitch by Emmanuel, putting King up 5-1. 
 
Clifford Brown took over from Parks in the bottom of the 5
th. Parks allowed 3 hits and 4 runs. 
 
In the top of the 7
th, 
Luke Patty singled up the middle, bringing home 
Guy Anderberg to cut the lead to 2-5. 
 
Tyler Mayfield replaced Brown as the pitcher in the bottom of the 7
th inning. Brown allowed only one hit and shutout King while on the mound. 
 
In the top of the 8
th, 
Judd Roberts doubled to left center, brining both 
Brody Campbell and 
Dustin Frost home to cut the lead to 4-5. 
Anthony Baez reached on an error which brought Roberts home, tying the game 5-5. A wild pitch by King brought Baez home, giving Emmanuel a 6-5 advantage
. 
In the bottom of the 8
th, Emmanuel gave up a 3-run homerun to Flanagan, giving King a 8-6 lead. 
 
In the top of the 9
th, 
Yeshua Saint singled through the right side, brining 
Luke Patty home and cutting the lead to 7-8. However, King held Emmanuel from scoring again, leading to the 7-8 defeat. 
 
Mayfield closed the game for Emmanuel, allowing 3 hits and 3 runs. 
 
Tonight's loss moves Emmanuel to 6-8 (1-2 CC). They will continue their season as they travel to compete against the University of North Georgia on February 23
rd at 3:00 PM.
