Lions Fall in Final Game, Go 2-1 in Series with Warriors

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Baseball team fell to Southern Wesleyan University on Monday night. Despite the dropped contest, the Lions still won the series after winning both games in yesterday's doubleheader. This moves Emmanuel's record to 10-15 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
 
Emmanuel fell behind early and couldn't come back in the 13-5 loss. Southern Wesleyan scored on a double by Jordan Montgomery in the first inning, a double by DJ Ludwick in the second inning, and a single by Chance Fogel in the second inning.
 
Emmanuel struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Southern Wesleyan, giving up 13 runs.
 
Sean Sutay got the win for Southern Wesleyan. Sutay allowed seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Jake Wisniewski threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Colby Feilds took the loss for Emmanuel. The pitcher surrendered four runs on six hits over one and two-thirds innings, walking zero.
 
Emmanuel saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Kyle Lacross, Yeshua Saint, Cody Minnis, and Luke Patty all had multiple hits.
 
Southern Wesleyan scattered 12 hits in the game. Richards, Will Pitts, Ludwick, and Zach O'Malley all collected multiple hits.
 
Next up, the baseball team will head to the Palmetto State to face Anderson University on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:00pm.
