Men's Lax Overcomes Mountain Lions in Close Game

Young Harris, GA - The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team headed to Young Harris, Ga this afternoon to play the Young Harris College Mountain Lions. The Lions fought hard this game, and came home with a win for Emmanuel. The final score was 11-10. This moves Emmanuel's record to 2-7 overall.

First Period
The Lions started off strong, with Travis Brave Heart scoring the first goal within the first few minutes of the game. The Lions were going strong, until the Mountain Lions scored back, then once more. Travis Brave Heart wouldn't back down for the Lions, scoring the last goal to tie the period. 

Second Period 
The Mountain Lions came into the second period strong, scoring another goal, but this wouldn't stop the Lions. Shamaz Durant scored back to back for the team, but the Mountain Lions matched those goals, as they scored two more as well. Luke Hildebrandt and Jared Weiss brought the Lions up, scoring two more goals before the period ended. 

Third Period
Travis Brave Heart came back for the Lions once again, scoring within the first two minutes of the period. Shamaz Durant did the same as he scored soon after. The Lions were on fire, having one more goal scored by Allan Velasquez before the Mountain Lions scored back. Nolan Winter scored the final goal of this period for the Lions before the Mountain Lions scored twice more, putting the score at 10-8. 

Fourth Period
The Mountain Lions came into the final period strong, scoring once more, only for Devon Roberts to bring it back for the Lions. The Mountain Lions were no match for the Lions, having one goal left in them for the rest of the game. The final score was 11-10, leaving the Emmanuel Lions victorious over the Young Harris Mountain Lions. 


The Men's Lacrosse team will continue their 2022 season at home on Saturday, March 26th @ 3pm against the Chowan University Hawks.
