TRAVELERS REST, SC - The Emmanuel baseball team (16-26, 8-16 CC) played a three game series again conference opponent North Greenville University this weekend. The Crusaders, who are currently ranked sixth in Division II, swept the series.
After falling 0-9 on Friday, the Lions rebounded in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. RBI's by Brody Campbell, Zachary Bergstrom, and Tyler Smith in the top of the fourth tied the game 3-3. However, a run for the Crusaders in the next inning gave them a 4-3 lead that remained for the last few innings.
The final game of the series was NGU's best, as they defeated the Lions 17-3.
Next up, Emmanuel baseball will play an out-of-league tuneup against Lee University on Tuesday, April 19. First pitch is slated for 5:00pm.
