The Sophomore, Eve Robinson, shined this weekend by capturing the singles title. In her path, Robinson defeated, Riley Gunter (North Greenville), 6-2 6-1, then Irma Granstam (Barton College), 6-3 6-2, followed by Angelina Jacobs (Erskine), 3-6 5-2, ret. Next, Nance Madelyn (Coker) 6-3 3-6 14-12, and finally Hannah Hill (North Greenville), 7-5 3-6 10-5.
 
Other Emmanuel Lions players had great wins in singles play at the event too: Lauren Castillon over Andi Billingsly (Belmont Abbey) by 6-1 6-0. Chloe Smith took down Ashlen Chapman (North Greenville) 2-6 6-1 10-3. Alejandra Guerrero also had a great run conquering, Maria Impalea (Mount Olive) 6-2 6-2, then Hanna Vasconez (Erskine) 6-2 6-1, and then Ingrid Montserrat (Mount Olive) 6-3 6-1. Darja Chistov also had a nice tournament with wins over: Silvia Fernandez (Barton) 6-3 6-0, and then Teodora Stefanovic (Erskine) 6-3 1-6 10-5. Soleny Gonzalez had a pair of wins, first over Ariana Jativa, 4-6 1-6 10-2, and then Oriana Izarra, 6-3 7-6. Zyanya Rogel earned the last win for the lions in singles play, over Alexandra Saez (Barton), 4-1 ret.
 
In Doubles play, Chistov/Robinson earned a pair of wins, first over, Granstam/McCartney (Barton) 6-3 and then Drake/Krieg (Coker) by 7-6. Ghosh/Gonzalez also found two wins, first Impalea/Edekstein (Mount Olive) 6-1, and then Macias/Nance (Coker), 7-6.
