Franklin Springs, GA --- Emmanuel College Women's Soccer hosted King University tonight in a Conference Carolinas matchup.
The Lions dominated this Conference Carolinas match. At just 9 minutes and 1 second into the game,
Elizabeth Barnhart scored Emmanuel's first goal assisted by
Allie Windom. The Lions would go up 1-0 in the first half and keep the Tornados silent. Emmanuel put up 7 shots in the first half, 3 of which were saved by Tornados goalie, Kristal Gracia, 3 missed high and wide and one was successful. The Tornados put up 0 shots during the first half of play.
Emmanuel came out strong in the second half looking to extend their lead. The Lions would put up point number 2 on the board at 69:57.
Rachel Wegesend would score assisted by
Elizabeth Barnhart. The Lions would continue to dominate as they would once again score at 79:50.
Lourdes Thompkins would make the shot unassisted putting the Lions up 3-0. The Lions weren't done just yet though. Emmanuel would score the 4th and final goal of the game at 87:01.
Viki Lederer scored the final goal assisted by
Zoe Logue. The Tornados would stay shotless the entire game and at the end of 90 minutes played, Emmanuel would secure the victory 4-0 against the Tornados.
Emmanuel will host UNC Pembroke for a Conference Carolinas matchup later this week, date and time to be determined.
