Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lions Fall to Barton 2-1

Wilson, NC – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer traveled to Barton College today for a conference match. After 90 minutes of play, the Lions fell to the Bulldogs, losing 1-2. With this loss, the Lions record moves to 6-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference. 
 
Both teams showed an impressive defense in the first half, heading into the second half 0-0.
 
Barton College struck first in the second half, with a goal scored in the 56th minute, 0-1. The Emmanuel Lions answered in the 68th minute with a goal from sophomore Matt Fitzer, assisted by junior Tomas Pollacchi, 1-1. In the 71st minute, the Bulldogs earned another point to shut down the Lions, 1-2.
 
Emmanuel ended the match with 3 shots on goal to Barton's 10. 
 
Up next, the Lions return to Franklin Springs to take on Young Harris College on Wednesday, October 18 at 7PM.
