DUE WEST, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team was back in action today against the Erskine Flying Fleet. It was a defensive battle from the start, but a first half goal lifted the Lions over the Fleet for a 1-0 win. With the win, Emmanuel's record improves to 7-5-1 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
The sole goal of the game came from sophomore,
Colin Wedderburn in the 15
th minute of play, assisted by
Samuel Botwright.
The Lions went into half leading 1-0 on the scoreboard and 11-1 in shots on goal.
The second half was a defensive battle, with neither team getting much going offensively. Both teams had 2 shots on goal. In the end, Wedderburn's goal was all Emmanuel would need to get the win, 1-0 over the Flying Fleet.
Next up for the Lions will be a trip to North Greenville University on Tuesday at 6:30p.m.
