BANNER ELK, NC – The Emmanuel Women's Volleyball team traveled to Lees-McRae College to take on the Bobcats in Conference Carolinas action tonight. In what was an exciting, back and forth game, the Lions came out on top, 3-2. With the win, Emmanuel's record improves to 17-10 overall, 12-3 in conference play.
The Lions got off to a hot start, defeating Lees-McRae 25-15 in the first set. The Bobcats would respond to take the second set, 25-17. Emmanuel would take the third in a close one, 25-23, with the Bobcats answering back with a win in the 4
th, 25-21. To close, the Lions would remain calm and finish strong with a 15-12 win in the fifth and final set.
Overall, the Lions had 60 kills, 6 aces, 10 blocks, and 69 digs.
Senior
Alaina Emminger and sophomore,
Layla Bland led the way with 15 kills apiece. Sophomore,
Ellie Jackson contributed 11 of her own.
Senior
Emily Hanson was hot from the service line with three aces. Sophomore,
Rachel McGlamery added two of her own.
Hanson also led the way with 7 blocks, with senior,
Gabrielle McGlamery and junior,
Jocelyn Martin adding three apiece.
Gabrielle McGlamery had 48 assists on the night, to add to her career total.
