FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Volleyball team hosted the North Greenville Crusaders tonight in Conference Carolinas action. In what was a back-and-forth match, the Lions came away with the 3-2 win to share the Southwest Division title! With the win, the Lions improve to 19-10 on the season, 14-3 in conference play, improving their win streak to 6 in a row.
The first set was all Emmanuel (25-17), with the Lions earning four aces from the service line and 14 kills. The Crusaders responded in the second set with a 26-24 win. Emmanuel would take set three, 25-21 earning 3 blocks in the set. NGU would take the fourth set, 26-24 but the Lions would remain focused to close out the game in the 5
th set, 15-8.
Overall, the Lions had 71 kills, 11 aces, 10 blocks, and 66 digs.
Senior,
Emily Hanson led the way with 19 kills, with sophomore,
Layla Bland close behind, with 18. Freshman,
Cailin Pritchard contributed 14 of her own. Hanson also led the team in blocks, with 3.5.
Senior
Gabrielle McGlamery had a night, doubling her career high in aces, with 6. She also had 58 assists and 2 blocks!
Sophomore,
Ellie Jackson contributed 3 aces and led the team in digs with 15.
