Mount Olive, NC - The Lions traveled to the University of Mount Olive to face off against the Trojans in one of their last games in regular season play. Currently the Lions are sitting in second place in Conference Carolinas as UNC Pembroke still holds the first seed overall with a 25-1 record.

The Lions would open up the first half of play slow out of the gate as they would manage to find themselves down by 10 on the road headed into the half. The Lions would start slow but go on a roll in the second half of play scoring nine unanswered points in a matter of two minutes. The game would come down to the wire in the final half as the Lions would be up by 11 points with under two minutes left to play. With .17 seconds left to play, the Lions would be up by 3 and force the Trojans to foul in order to have hopes of winning the game. KJ Jones would sink his first two of four free throws putting the Lions now up by 5. The Trojans would answer with a 3 by Trayvon Ferrell to put the Trojans within 2 with .10 seconds left to play. KJ Jones would be fouled and sink his final two free throws of the night followed by
Jeremiah Francis who would sink one. The Trojans were within 3 points of the Lions with 0 seconds left on the clock as they drew a foul before the end of game time. However, these two free throws wouldn't be enough for the Trojans to walk away with the victory.
The Lions will host number one seed UNC Pembroke at home on Saturday, February 18th. The game is set to begin at 4:00pm.Â
