FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - The Emmanuel men's volleyball team took on King University on Thursday night. The Lions lost in four sets to the Tornado. This moves Emmanuel's record to 7-15 overall and 2-8 in league play.

Set one:

King led 5-1 early in the opening set, but then a 7-2 run in favor of Emmanuel put the Lions up by a point, 8-7. Three kills from Jayden Young and an ace from Henrik Westhoff fueled the scoring. The teams would trade points the rest of the way, until it was tied at 20. The Tornado scored twice, but a kill from Daniel Beacham and block by Beacham and Noah Langelier tied the score at 22. King soon got to set point, 24-23, but a kill from Nicklas Eichenberger extended the set. However, two more points for the Tornado won them the set, 27-25.

Set two:

King began the second set with seven straight points. After an Emmanuel timeout, the Lions scored three times in a row. However, the Tornado would continue to hold onto their lead until an 8-1 run eventually gave them the set, 25-13.

Set three:

With the score tied at seven, Emmanuel put down five unanswered points. From there the Lions built on their lead until it was as much as six points, 20-14. The Tornado put together a late rally, but ultimately came up short as the Lions won the third set, 25-22.

Set four:

King set the pace in the fourth set, building a 13-4 lead early on. The Lions mustered a couple small runs, but each time the Tornado had an answer. Eventually King would capture the fourth set, 25-13, and the match, 3-1.
