Emmanuel College Lions Falls to North Greenville University After Intense High-Scoring Game

North Greenville University bested Emmanuel College Lions in a high-scoring affair, 16-7.

The Emmanuel College Lions struggled to contain the high-powered offense of North Greenville University, giving up 16 runs.

Emmanuel College Lions took an early lead in the second inning when T. Collins singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

After North Greenville University scored one run in the top of the fourth, Emmanuel College Lions answered with one of their own.  North Greenville University scored when J. Faile ll drew a walk, scoring one run.  Emmanuel College Lions then answered when C. Minnis singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

North Greenville University took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third P. Monteith grounded out, scoring one run, D. Lewis singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and J. Cash's sac fly scored one run for North Greenville University.

Emmanuel College Lions notched four runs in the sixth inning.  Emmanuel College Lions scored its runs on an RBI sacrifice fly by N. Dietsch.

North Greenville University scored four runs in the seventh inning.  The offensive onslaught by North Greenville University was led by Monteith, D. Whitaker, and C. Bivins, all driving in runs in the inning.

C. Cox was credited with the victory for North Greenville University. Cox went four innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out three.  C. Long and K. Odom entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

M. Dickey took the loss for Emmanuel College Lions. The righty surrendered five runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.

Emmanuel College Lions tallied 12 hits.  Minnis and Collins each had multiple hits for Emmanuel College Lions.  Minnis went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Emmanuel College Lions in hits.

North Greenville University collected 18 hits.  C. Dierdorf, Monteith, Lewis, J. Vasquez, Whitaker, and B. Roddey each racked up multiple hits for North Greenville University.  Dierdorf led North Greenville University with four hits in five at bats.
