LIONS FALL TO HAWAII 3-0

HONOLULU, HI – The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball team completed a two-match series with national powerhouse, #4 Hawai'i last night inside SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.. The Lions put up a valiant effort and battled hard on the national stage, but fell in straight sets to the Rainbow Warriors, 25-7, 25-8, 25-8. With the loss, Emmanuel falls to 0-2 on the season and Hawai'i improved to 3-1.Â

In Wednesday night's match, the Lions battled until the last serve, so the Warriors came out with a sense of urgency last night showcasing an improved offense. The Warriors would get off to an early lead in the first set, recording 10 kills, defeating the Lions 25-7.Â

In set two, the Warriors continued to keep the pressure on, with 13 kills and showcased a strong serve game. The Warriors took the set, 25-8.

In the third set, the Lions bounced back, doubling their point total from the first two sets and recording eight kills and three aces. The Warriors narrowly defeated the Lions, 25-18.Â

In the match, Hawai'i had a total of 14 service aces, including a program record tying nine by freshman, Louis Sakanoko.Â

Overall, the Lions had 12 kills, 11 assists and 3 aces. Sophomore,
Aidan Feeney and senior,
Eli Zdonek led the way for the Lions with 3 kills apiece.Â

Next up, the Lions will travel to Charleston, WV to take on the University of Charleston on Friday at 7PM!Â
