FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Basketball team hosted Chowan University in Conference Carolinas play today. The Lions started off strong offensively and held the Hawks at bay in the second half to take a 69-55 win. With the win, the Lions extend their win-streak to eight games and improve to 17-4 on the season and 9-1 in conference action.
In the first half of play, the Lions offense started clicking early getting off to an 8-2 lead. Emmanuel shot 14-35 from the field (40%) and was 3-9 from beyond the arc. Junior,
Chris Dees contributed 2 of Emmanuel's triples in the half. Junior,

Tavarus Webb each had 8 points in the half, and the Lions led 33-21 at the break.
In the second half, the Hawks came out strong offensively, making a few key three-pointers. The Hawks would get within 9 of the lead on several occasions, but the Lions answered each time. The Lions shot 52% from the field in the second half of play, making 12-16 from the foul line. In the game, the Lions doubled up the Hawks in points in the paint, 46-26, which helped Emmanuel secure a 14-point victory over Chowan, 69-55.
Kendall Latney ended the night with 18 points, 9 rebounds and a block, with senior,
KJ Jones II had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Red-shirt sophomore,
Tavarus Webb contributed 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block, while junior,
Chris Dees ended the night with 10 points and 3 rebounds.
