Central, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team traveled to Central, SC tonight to take on the Southern Wesleyan Warriors in conference play. The Warriors got off to a quick start to take a 1-0 lead, but the Lions would respond to make it 1-1, which would be the final score. With the result, the Lions now sit at 2-3-3 on the season, 1-3-2 in conference play.
The Warriors started off the scoring with a goal in the 11
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Emmanuel's
Tomas Pollacchi responded at 30:05 with a goal assisted by
Luciano Rundles to tie things at 1-1. The score remained tied until late in the half, when
Alberto Hernandez Meca found the net with three seconds to play, assisted by
Ross Lamont, to give the Lions a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
The second half was a battle, with both teams threatening to score but defensively holding strong. The Lions out-shot the Warriors, 12-10 with 6 shots on goal.
The Lions will be back in action on October 16
