Rome, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team traveled to Rome, GA to face Shorter tonight in Conference Carolinas action. The game was a defensive battle, with neither team finding the net until a late goal by Emmanuel's
Ross Lamont gave the Lions a 1-0 win. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-3-2 overall, 3-3-1 in conference.
The first half was a defensive battle, with neither team breaking through to score. The Lions led Shorter, 9 shots to 3 in the half, with four shots on goal. At the half, the teams were tied at 0-0.
The second half was competitive, with both teams playing well defensively. Emmanuel senior,
Ross Lamont broke through at 60:40 to score, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Lions held onto the lead the rest of the way, out-shooting the Hawks 9-5 in the half, with three shots on goal.
Lamont led the way with two shots on goal, while Alberto Hernandez-Meca,
Tomas Pollacchi, and
Pau Nel-lo Recasens each had one a piece.
