Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Lions Sweep Young Harris 3-0!

Franklin Springs, GA-The Emmanuel Women's Volleyball team hosted the Mountain Lions of Young Harris this afternoon in Conference Carolinas play. The Lions got off to a strong start, taking the first two sets, 25-9, 25-11. The Mountain Lions made the third set competitive, but the Lions would pull away in the end to earn a 25-18 win to take the match, 3-0. With the win, the Lions improve to 19-9 overall, 15-1 in conference play. 
 
In the first set, the Lions took an early 5-3 lead. The Mountain Lions responded with a 3-1 run to tie things at 6-6, but the Lions answered back with a 3-0 run of their own to make it 9-6. Midway through the set, the Lions went on an 11-0 run, including six kills and two aces to make it 21-8. The Lions would score the final four points, including forcing three attack errors to take the set, 25-9. 
 
In set two, the two teams went back and forth early. The Lions pulled ahead with a 7-2 run to go up 9-5. A 6-0 run by the Lions including three aces and three kills would make it 19-8. The Lions would score the next five of eight points to take the set, 25-11. 
 
In the third set, the Mountain Lions took an early 5-4 lead. The Lions responded well, to go up 12-7, pushing their lead to 18-11 midway through the set. The Moutain Lions would mount a comeback, getting as close as 22-17, but the Lions would close the set out strong to win it, 25-18 and take the game 3-0. 
 
Overall, the Lions had 47 kills, 8 aces, 4 blocks, 45 assists, and 39 digs. 
 
Ellie Jackson led the team with 12 kills, with Alaina Emminger adding 11. 
 
Asia Queen had three service aces on the day, with Sami Gambill contributing 2.
 
Isabel Miller had 18 assists on the day, with Gambill adding 12. 
 
Asia Queen had 17 digs in the game to lead the team.
