FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Basketball team hosted the Francis Marion Patriots in Conference Carolinas action this afternoon. The Patriots jumped out to an early lead, and although the Lions responded well in the second half, Francis Marion took the game, 90-87. With the loss, the Lions fall to 19-5 on the season and 
 
In the first half, the Lions offense was slow to get started offensively, going 8-26 from the field and 2-9 from beyond the arc. The Patriots got off to a quick start, shooting 47% from the field and going 4-9 from three. Francis Marion would go into half with a 45-30 lead. 
 
In the second half, the Patriots continued their offensive showcase, leading by double digits for most of the half but the Lions put up a fight, getting the game within one point with 2:53 to play on a three-pointer by Tavarus Webb. The Patriots would close out the game on a run and would take the win in nailbiter fashion, 90-87. 
 
KJ Jones II led the Lions in scoring with 31 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, a block and a steal. Chris Dees contributed 17 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal and Tavarus Webb added 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and a block. Kendall Latney had 13 points and 9 rebounds on the night. 
 
Next up, the Lions will travel to Tigerville, SC to take on North Greenville on Tuesday at 7PM.
