FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team hosted the #19 ranked Lander Bearcats in non-conference action tonight. The Bearcats got off to an early lead, scoring 10 goals in the first quarter and kept the momentum the rest of the way to earn a 22-7 victory. With the loss, the Lions fall to 0-3 on the season.
In the first quarter, Lander would take a 10-0 lead, with seven Bearcats finding the net.
Lander would add to their lead to start the 2
nd quarter, 11-0 but the Lions would respond.
Tanner Park would get Emmanuel on the board with a goal in the 7
th minute, assisted by
Kyle Lloyd to bring the score to 11-1, Lander. The Bearcats would score three more times in the 2
nd to take a 14-1 advantage into the third quarter.
In the third, Lander would net two goals to start the quarter with a 16-1 advantage. Then, Emmanuel's
Luke Hildebrandt would score at the 8:50 mark, assisted by
Ryland Laturell to bring the score to 16-2. The Bearcats would add another score to bring it to 17-2, then Hildebrandt would net one with 1:59 to play in the 3
rd to bring the score to 17-3. Lander would close out the quarter with two more goals to take a 19-3 lead into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Bearcats would make it 20-3 early, but the Lions would respond with a goal by Park at the 10:07 mark, assisted by
Ryley Dowswell to make the score 20-4. Lander would add to their lead to make it 21-4, but the Lions would have an answer.
Kyle Lloyd would score at 5:07, assisted by
Ryland Laturell to make the score 21-5, then
Luke Hildebrandt would score twice with three minutes to play to make it 21-7. The Bearcats would close out the game with a goal to earn a 22-7 victory.
